As of today, you can no longer create new incognito surveys on YourOpinion.
If you’ve already created one, nothing changes. Existing incognito surveys continue to work until they reach their normal expiry date, and you can claim any of them into a free account with a single click at any time before then.
Creating surveys is still free. The only change is that new surveys now start inside a free account instead of anonymously.
Where Incognito Came From
Incognito surveys are how YourOpinion started. You opened the homepage, built a survey, and shared it. No signup, no email, no password. The admin link was all you needed, and that was the whole product.
That design solved a real problem. Creating an account used to mean forms, confirmation emails, and one more password to forget. Skipping all of it was the fastest way to get a survey in front of people, and plenty of you did exactly that.
The Two Paths Diverged
Then we introduced accounts, and over time the two paths stopped being the same product. Account surveys gained advanced analytics, sentiment analysis, KPI dashboards, team collaboration with roles and permissions, and an Android app so results follow you around. They also continue to receive every new feature we build.
Incognito surveys received very little of that. We didn’t ignore them. Most of these capabilities simply need a durable identity to make sense.
Maintaining two different ways of creating surveys also meant every major feature had to support both models. As the platform evolved, that increasingly meant solving the same problem twice.
At the same time, the friction incognito was built to remove has largely disappeared. Creating an account now takes a single click. The honest conclusion is that incognito had become the more limited option, and the reason it existed was gone. Pointing new users toward it was no longer the best introduction to the product.
We Respect Every Survey’s Retention Period
Incognito surveys have always had a one-month lifespan, and every survey created before today gets its full run.
- Response links and QR codes continue collecting answers.
- The admin page keeps working for viewing results, editing, and sharing.
- Your data remains available until the survey reaches its normal expiry date.
There’s no removal date to put in your calendar. Every survey expires on the same schedule as always.
Keep a Survey by Claiming It
If you have an incognito survey worth keeping, claim it into a free account. It takes one click from the survey’s admin page. Your questions, settings, and every response collected so far move automatically into your account.
From that point on, the survey becomes a normal account survey. Responses are retained for a year instead of one month, the question limit disappears, and analytics, sentiment analysis, KPI dashboards, and future platform features all become available.
